Open Question: In ontario canada, do salaries vary based on the courses being taught?

For instance would a person teaching grade 12 english receive less than grade 12 math teacher? I am a first year student at york university and thinking of becoming a grade 12 English teacher but I need to chose two subjects. What other subjects do you recommend with English? Open Question: Diploma or Second Major with a major already?

I am currently studying Comm/Visual arts combined major and intend to finish it. However, many of professors believe that I have great skill in the field of animation which, although is contained in some of the courses, is not focused on. After I graduate I intend to pursue animation a bit farther as a certificate, diploma or major, however I am not sure which would be best. I don't know how much a certificate is worth or if its even worth it (1-2 years) which leads to a diploma (three years) or a second major (four years, only one more year than a diploma), what would be the best course of action to pursue?

my school offers the IB certificate program, so I am allowed to take two elective IB's (or group 6 IB's). Open Question: What would look better for a state university?

A public high school that has an AP classes major, or a school of the arts high school? Details: Right now, I am a freshman in a public high school, taking Pre AP/Honors classes and a couple AP classes at the moment, and I receive A's and B's. On the other hand, I am really good at drawing and art, and I auditioned for visual arts at Dreyfoos School of the Arts. So i can either stay at my school and take more AP and Honors classes, or go to an arts school next. I adore drawing, but i want to be a lawyer. What do you think state universities would prefer to look? I could still probably take honors classes at the art school, too.

Voting Question: I feel so depressed. I just wanna die. :(?

I'm in gr.9, a freshman at my high school. Im suppose to be in grade 10 but then i fell a grade behind. Other grade 9's know that and think it's weird. The worst part about is that my younger sister is with me in grade 9 and it just sucks. People always compare me and her. Alot of the Grade nines like my younger sister cause she's noisy and fun to talk to while i'm the sensitive,silent and shy type one. :( Well its normal for me to be shy with the Grade.nines because it's weird for them to look a girl who is suppose to be in grade.10 but is in grade.9. Some of them or maybe most of them think i'm dumb. :( Like im a repeater. I made friends with this girl name Liz we had 2 classes together in 1st semester which was Phys Ed and Science. When i had Phys Ed with Liz she acted like she didn't know me and rarely talked to me. She'd talk to me sometimes but mostly to my younger sister cause she's noisy and everything. For Science she would only talk to me cause everybody in our Science class was weird and some of them smoked. Now 2nd semester just started recently and me and her sit right beside each other for Visual Arts but Liz also sits besides my younger sister. Visual Arts is the only class we have together and my younger sister is in that class as well. So guess who Liz's talks to in Visual Arts? My younger sister! When my younger sister makes friends with someone in that class, Liz just follows my younger sister and become's friends with whoever my sister is friends with or whoever my sister talks to, Liz will talk to them as well. Now in Visual Arts Liz barely talks to me it's like never. So the other day my close pal Candice told this to me: "Hey you know Liz right? And i'm like ya and then she said well u know how u guys had 2 classes together last semester well she was just using u cause she had no one else to be with and she was just only making conversations with u because she only felt sorry for you and she doesn't really like you at every". I got so mad that i didn't even want to talk to Liz anymore. Liz kinda noticed that i got mad at her because she'd always talk to my younger sister in visual arts and made me feel like i was invisible and that i wasn't even her pal. So then now me and Liz aren't even speaking to each other. Things are just so awkard when it comes Visual Arts class. But it is mostly her fault. I did nothing to her. It was so obvious that even if Candice hadn't told me that it just looked like Liz used me every along and just faked our friendship. I told my younger sister about this but just didn't receive involved and just doesn't care at every and my sister is still friends with her and still talks to her. I asked Candice if she knew if my sister liked Liz as a pal and she told me that "Your sister doesn't even like Liz cause one time in english class when they had to write a poem Liz just copied ur sister's work". And as of now my sister is still friends with that fake girl. I'm guessing my younger sister is fake as well just like her. My younger sister doesn't even care about me. In the morning we go to school so early and it just drives me nuts because some of my friends don't even arrive to school early and yet she goes early cause her friends go early to school and her friends probably text her saying "Hey can u go to school early i wanna chat with u". and then when we do go to school early i have no one to be with cause my friends aren't there and so i tried hanging out with my sister's friends but it just looks like i'm following them and her friends don't even talk to me cause i'm her older sister and it's weird for them. The only friends i have in my life and in high school like 5 people and they don't have cellphones or anything. There not popular but i guess a little nerdy. There every smart and friendly. My only problem is that after high school were every going seperate ways and only 2 out of 5 of them have facebook. :( I feel like after high school it's like having no friends at every again for me. every of my friends are going to University and i'm going to College. :( I'm just so scared cause what if i can't make a single pal out there in college? :( I just hate my life. Sometimes i wish i could just die My life just seems pretty useless. Please help me i feel so down and depressed. :(

Voting Question: what is wrong with me?!?

I'm 16 years old. I don't know who I am anymore. My anxiety is pretty much controlling me!! I feel it's getting worse each day and I don't know what to do! Also, I keep going through weird 'cycles' where I'll be glad one day, then, the next I'll be the COMPLETE OPPOSITE. I have a "General anxiety disorder" and i've seen counsellors in the past because I couldn't go to school because of it. I'm now going to Tafe, studying Visual Art, but honestly? It feels so pointless!! I do not think becoming an Artist is where I want to go in life, but I don't know what it is I DO want to do and the intensity of these emotions is really exhausting me, mentally, and I really don't even want to be here. (Like, alive). I don't have a job. It 'exhausts' me just getting ready for tafe in the mornings, doing my hair/makeup - i don't think i'm Ugly...but when i look in the mirror or a reflection i start feeling weak, and sick, and then receive really hot and sweaty.. I have one pal, a male, we know lots about each other... but i can't tell him about this - he has lots to deal with at the moment, a couple of days ago he told me he had an anxiety attack at school...and he's never had any problems with anxiety before.. i don't want to weigh him down further with my cr*p .... But what can i do? I recently stopped being friends with this girl I have known for Years, we were 'best friends' but she was continually insulting me and i just couldn't deal with it anymore. My parents don't understand. I've actually ASKED, multiple times, for counselling again. But they receive really mad and say it won't help. I've told them it will. More anger. And yes i've sat down with them and tried calmly.. still the same. i feel like i'm going crazy. what can i do?! (Btw sorry about it being worded so messily!! This is my life basically, and I'm really just at a loss for what to do and am so desperate i need to ask on Y!A) :/

I know this senior girl who I look up to. She plays the tuba, and can also play the clarinet and bass clarinet. She is also witty,yet, reserved, and established in the visual arts. Then I overheard her saying that she has never had sex without a condom before. She also expressed that aborting a 6-month old fetus( I AM NOT MEDICALLY CERTIFIED NOR DID NOT LOOK THIS UP) is bad, but not a 2 week or I month old fetus. I'm sorry, and she's still chilly and every, but I'll never look at her the same way again.

I'm not in school anymore, but please do not judge. I have had a variety of anxiety issues which have led to quite alot of other 'mental' problems...(I'm not Mentally sick :P just not sure how else to word it) I was going to do something to do with Art. So, I am currently studying Visual art at Tafe....but I feel it is pointless and it's not where I want to go in life... Open Question: Can someone please explain to me what my new creative ability is?

I have always been a creative person. I have explored every of the arts and tried them every. I have done video production, photography, fine art, music, theater. I am skilled in the abilities surrounding those areas. Like I have a really good photographer's eye, I can set up lighting, I can act, I am teaching myself piano (I have a good ear). But lately when I look certain material things (ie; rocks, structures, trees, walls, buildings) or areas (ie; housing, nature, buildings, anywhere) I instantly receive visual ideas of OTHER locations that the areas remind me of. I visualize places I have never been before. Sometimes certain smells also give me ideas too but not as much. I am a high school student and my ideas do not happen too often at school. They happen more when I am like outside in nature or riding in a car and pass by places. It is nothing bad or dangerous. Just something chilly that I have recently acquired, that's every. I have tried putting my ideas on paper and have been fairly successful with communicating the picture well. I have thought about putting my new ability to work by doing set design in theater or production design in film. Animation has been an idea too. My question is if anyone knows what is happening to me. Like if it is some nice of medical condition maybe? Lol.

Voting Question: Are there any dslr's that have a classic 35mm SLR type body?

I posted this in visual arts/photography as well. I like the way 35mm slr's were sturdily built, not so much plastic, when I started photography in the 80's. I like the simplicity of the settings, good viewfinders. I had Minolta SRT101, very basic. I've looked at the digital SLR's. The sturdiest, most classic feeling I have found are the Panasonic DMC-L1, Pentax K7, Olympus e-520, 620, Sony A900. The Panasonic and Olympus have tiny viewfinders, the A900 is pricey. I like to shoot landscapes and city scenes, some artistic black and white shots, portrait work, still lifes to paint from, and I need to record my artwork, paintings. Budget $500 to $1200. I would like a quick lens for low light, indoor shots. I have a panasonic LX3, but am interested in a DSLR for the viewfinder mostly, and variety of lenses. I'm considering a Pentax Kx, with some good lenses.

Liz kinda noticed that i got mad at her because she'd always talk to my younger sister in visual arts and made me feel like i was invisible and that i wasn't even her pal. So then now me and Liz aren't even speaking to each other. Things are just so awkard when it comes Visual Arts class. But it is mostly her fault. I did nothing to her. It was so obvious that even if Candice hadn't told me that it just looked like Liz used me every along and just faked our friendship. I told my younger sister about this but just didn't receive involved and just doesn't care at every and my sister is still friends with her and still talks to her. I asked Candice if she knew if my sister liked Liz as a pal and she told me that "Your sister doesn't even like Liz cause one time in english class when they had to write a poem Liz just copied ur sister's work". And as of now my sister is still friends with that fake girl. I'm guessing my younger sister is fake as well just like her. My younger sister doesn't even care about me. In the morning we go to school so early and it just drives me nuts because some of my friends don't even arrive to school early and yet she goes early cause her friends go early to school and her friends probably text her saying "Hey can u go to school early i wanna chat with u". and then when we do go to school early i have no one to be with cause my friends aren't there and so i tried hanging out with my sister's friends but it just looks like i'm following them and her friends don't even talk to me cause i'm her older sister and it's weird for them. The only friends i have in my life and in high school like 5 people and they don't have cellphones or anything. There not popular but i guess a little nerdy. There every smart and friendly. My only problem is that after high school were every going seperate ways and only 2 out of 5 of them have facebook. :( I feel like after high school it's like having no friends at every again for me. every of my friends are going to University and i'm going to College. :( I'm just so scared cause what if i can't make a single pal out there in college? :( I just hate my life. Sometimes i wish i could just die My life just seems pretty useless. Please help me i feel so down and depressed. :(

Voting Question: A good visual aid for a history presentation?

I had to research the time period 1841-1860, and i have a presentation to give tomorrow about the daily life during that time. I need some creative visual aids to receive full credit. I've done posters for the last three projects, so none of those. My presentation includes info on like i said daily life, fashion, food, music/art/entertainment, religion, that stuff. Resolved Question: Am I a normal girl ? xD?

Ohaiio :] Otayy, before I start with a summary about myself, i'd like to say something ; yes, I know that normal can mean anything, but by normal, I nice of mean common or average..but not quite. Aeh, it's difficult to explain >.< Soo, I'm 12..and a half. xD I'm a girl :3 I read manga and anime..Including the yaoi ones..but not Yuri ones(since I can't find any with a good plot xD) . I'm into punk (the subculture.. not emo or scene..tht's quite fake stuff you know -.- ), Visual Kei/J-rock, Ganguro. I cosplay, a lot. My friends are every highschoolers. I go to concerts very often.. I like rave dancing(Ive never been to a rave... yet. Imma wait till I is 15 ;3 ) . Video games are one of my hobbies (Games based on an anime/manga, dating sims, call of duty, grand theft car, etc.) .. I'm really into body art (piercings and tattoos and that nice of stuff.) , I hear to Jpop/ParaPara-ish music / J-rock / Visual Kei / REAL Punk (Including Oi! punk) / and anything with Growling or Squealing vocals. I have a high IQ *higher than average*, and I don't believe in religion(god, jesus, every that stuff, the bible, praying, etc.) (my parents hate that about me. But eh. :/ ) So what do you think about me ? Am I the ''normal/average'' girl? Am I weird? Anything else ? ;P I'm not trying to be different or anything btw. I have an associate's degree in english and communications, a bachelor degree in Creative writing w/ a minor in management. My experiance includes: customer service, teaching, working in the library for 5 years, tutoring, and managing events and programs for a non-profit org. My skills include: communication (written and oral), organizing, editing, managing, leadership, and general computer skills. There's more but this is the skeleton. I've spent my entire life in the arts: theater, dance, poetry, play writing, cooking, and visual arts. I have skills and experiance in every these areas. But my problem is, there is nothing I'm passionate enough about to consider doing for therest of my life. So now I'm just looking for suggestions.

Voting Question: Help with a way to learn US copy right laws.?

To sum this up I want to know if there are any ways other then memorizing the entire US copyright laws to learn if I can quote other books and movies in my works, make video game parodies like on new grounds, and make a MST3000 type movie to donate to the library with the real movie I know they won't take it I just want to know if it;s illegal. and no these aren't every the same thing they are 3 different things. Hi. I was deciding to do things involving visual an literary arts and wanted to learn copy rights just so I knew what to expect. I found The US copy right homepage and saw that every the laws where written down there. It's an excruciatingly long and I was wondering if reading it and memorizing it verbatim was my only recourse to learn copy right laws. I was thinking perhaps a condensed but to the point way of learning copy right laws nice of book may be available or maybe I should just look up exactly what I'm curios about and leave the relax alone. any suggestions on a way I can learn copy right for my needs alone. if you need them I ws thinking of making stories with heavy quoting jokes like on psych. doing things on new grounds with video games. and making a MST3000 type movie with movies I plan on donating to my library with the movies. I know stupid but so am I. so I wanted to no if any of this was horribly illegal. if it matters no I wasn't expecting on making any of these profitable other then the stories that would be quote heavy like psych that I might try to make a profit of if I can.

im a freshman an i need to plan out my future. im stuck with one more semester of VPA and i have no idea what CP electives are. what should i take? Resolved Question: Fine arts credit VS. Visual & Performing arts credit?

I plan to go to a 4 year college (UC or CSU) straight out of high school. HOWEVER, the student handbook i was given mentioned a Fine Arts requirement, as well as a Visual and Performing Arts requirement for UC/CSU schools. Are they the same thing? Or are the two different, meaning I will have to take two seperate classes. Clear it up please, and thanks in advance
